A message from the Principal
From April 1, 2010, I became the Principal of the newly merged South Kent and West Kent Colleges. This new college, that stretches from Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells to Ashford, Folkestone and Dover, will launch with a new name for the new academic year 2010-11 in September.
Until then, it is business as usual on all our campuses, with over 20,000 people taking advantage of the learning and training opportunities that we offer.
We will be strong from the outset, engaging with employers, focussing on apprenticeships, and tailored training programmes, and working in partnership with schools, academies, universities, local authorities and a wide range of other community groups right across the area of the new College.
We offer courses at every level, from pre-GCSE to Higher Education degrees, and in Tonbridge, we are looking forward to the opening of a new, multi-million pound campus with state-of-the-art IT facilities and a 500 seat auditorium. Some classes will be in the new building from this September with the whole building coming into use from September 2011.
We would encourage you to come and see our student guidance and support staff who can help you decide which course and which level is the best one for you, and provide information about the best way to progress.
All of our student guidance facilities are MATRIX-accredited which means that they are objective and meet a high quality standard.
We have Learning Centres on each campus and you will be able to access the College intranet, fitness centres, hair and beauty salons and refectories.
Call in to meet us or get in touch by telephone or the internet.
This College is your local college - come along and enjoy your learning. See for yourself the benefits of this merger, including a wider choice of courses and services, and the much needed stability that a large college can bring to students and staff alike.
