Meanwhile both Colleges are working to create an excellent platform for the future.
"Staff at South Kent College have worked extremely hard this year to ensure that we are strong and ready for merger. It is a great credit to their commitment to learners in the Ashford, Dover and Folkestone areas that they have been able to achieve so much improvement in a period of relative uncertainty. We all want the college that emerges at the end of the merger process to be fit for the future and our confidence in that future grows stronger with every forward step.
My time at South Kent College has taught me that Governors and staff are no strangers to change and I know they are really ready to make the next change the most successful ever."
Monica Box
Principal, South Kent College
"Both colleges have a good track record of working in partnership. West Kent College believe strongly that a merger of the two neighbouring colleges will create new and better further and higher education learning opportunities for the people and businesses of west and south Kent."
Bill Fearon
Principal, West Kent College
