The event took place in the Kingsnorth Hall, Folkestone and a total of £490 was raised for Sports Relief. Quiz master, Stewart Haywood, said: 'The idea of a wine and wisdom evening came about as a way to build team spirit and do some good for our community at the same time, and it has been a huge success.' The next quiz night will be held in June 2010 in aid of Help for Heroes.

After a hugely successful Wine and Wisdom evening for Children in Need that raised £576 last year, more than a hundred staff and friends of South Kent College have held another fund raising quiz.
This time, staff were raising money for Sports Relief through a challenging quiz written and compered by Stewart Haywood, South Kent College's Director - 19 Plus. Mr Haywood said: 'There was such a good atmosphere at the last event, that everyone was saying we should do it again. Now this one is over, we're going to have another in the summer to raise money for Help for Heroes. But this time, there will be a fancy dress theme and staff are threatening to sponsor me to dress as a super hero to raise even more money!'
The top team at the event were titled the Hawkinge Hillbillies, beating 10 other teams with 96 points. Subjects covered included 'Cryptic' Chocolate, Assassins, Every 4 Years, and Connections, as well as two pictures rounds.
All the money raised is spent by Comic Relief to help poor and vulnerable people, both in this country and overseas. The main fund raising weekend begins on Friday, March 19 with Sports Relief events on TV, followed by tens of thousands of people across the UK taking part in the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile on Sunday, March 21.
